Below is one of my poems published in the 2013 SDWEG anthology, The Guilded Pen, available at http://www.lulu.com.
TO A PUSSYCAT NAMED NYMPHULA
With my compliments
You slink ‘cross the carpet, your sleek fur you flounce.
You spring in my lap and you land with a bounce.
I rub your soft tummy, my kitty I jounce.
Your paws grip my fingers, my palms your toes trounce.
You leap on the bird perch, on Polly you pounce.
You munch on poor Polly. You leave not an ounce.
I shake my head sadly, my kitty denounce.
I’ll ne’er play with you ‘gain, a joy I renounce.
I judge you, Nymphula, my sentence pronounce:
You’ll fry in the hot seat, remorse you’ll announce.
The 2013 anthology includes five other poems and a short-short story I wrote, one about a lesbian. I am not lesbian, but do recommend Side Pocket by the gifted lesbian writer, Norma Posy.
